DC Live! Final Fantasy IV: The After Years, Part 11 Livestream
I did some thinking after my screed about Porom during last week’s Final Fantasy IV: The After Years livestream announcement. I guess the poor girl doesn’t get much agency in her own story because she’s as passive as a doormat. At least she spent some time in her own chapter outside of Palom’s shadow, though she doesn’t seem to have much ambition for herself compared to her twin brother. The chapter ended on one hell of a cliffhanger regarding Kain, and I was tempted to start his story just to find out what happened next. I was advised to keep to my plan of going down the list of characters, so Edward’s chapter awaited me next.
I have to say, the tail end of Porom’s chapter picked up with the addition of Kain, a fighter who could dish out damage to the enemies. Going back to Edward, a low damage dealing bard felt like a slap in the face. Having to start fresh with each new chapter is starting to wear down my patience. On the upside, being King of Damcyan meant that Edward at least had several thousand gil to his name versus everyone who started out with a couple hundred gil. My fingers are crossed in the hope that this bard’s chapter doesn’t drag on too long. I should be able to finish it tonight.
